Srdjan Babic is the Chief Information Security Officer of CyberGate Defense, where he oversees the company's Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) services and leads CyberGate Academy. With more than 20 years of international experience, he has delivered security projects and ISMS implementations across government and private entities in the UAE, Africa, Oceania, and Europe. His expertise includes Technical Security, Al, Blockchain, IT/OT/loT Information and Cyber security and GRC. He has applied frameworks such as UAE Information Assurance Standards, ADSIC IS Standards, NIST 800 series, ISO 27000/20000/22300, CIS Controls, coBI, and IL. Srdjan has served as an outsourced CISO and on information security committees, reporting directly to senior management, boards, and audit committees. He has supported organizations in Energy (Oil & Gas, Nuclear, Renewables, Thermo), Finance (Banking, exchanges, blockchain), Government, and Healthcare, aligning cybersecurity with strategic objectives. He is a PhD candidate at the University of Sarajevo in Global Studies, with a thesis on ""Governance of Blockchain Smart Contracts."" He also holds an Executive MBA in Information Security from PECB University, Washington, D.C., and Master's degree in State Governance and Non-Governmental Institutions from the University of Sarajevo. In addition to his academic background, he holds globally recognized certifications including CISM, CISA, CMSA, and is a PECB ISO Certified Trainer. He has earned numerous ISOl IC credentials as Lead Implementer, Lead Auditor, and Manager across cybersecurity, privacy, business continuity, incident management, project management, SCADA security, and governance frameworks. His professional development also includes certifications in Microsoft Azure, ITIL, CAPM, CCNA, and Public Relations, reflecting a comprehensive mix of technical, governance, and leadership expertise.
