"𝗠𝘆 𝗔𝗜 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗷𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘆 : 𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗸𝗲𝘆𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 I still vividly remember the last Saturday of April 2024 when I took the stage at a conference in Bangalore to deliver a keynote on 𝗔𝗜 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 . As I walked up to the podium, the audience sat in anticipation, curious about this emerging field. By the end of the session, the room buzzed with excitement after my deep-dive into what AI Product truly means. April 2024 feels like just yesterday, but back then, AI Product Management was still a niche domain— it still continues to be. Fast forward to today, October 12th, 2024—I've just knocked-off AI Product certification from AI CERTs^® and I’m feeling a sense of déjà vu. The growing importance of AI Product Managers to shape and shepherd AI space is unquestionable. The role of AI Product Managers has never been more crucial. They operate at the intersection of advanced technology and business strategy, tasked with ensuring that AI innovations are not only technically sound but also commercially successful and ethically responsible. According to McKinsey, the AI industry is set to create up to $13 trillion in global economic value by 2030, making it one of the fastest-growing sectors. For VC & private equity (PE) firms, AI product innovation is no longer just a buzzword—it’s a massive opportunity. In 2023 alone, over $70 billion was invested in AI and machine learning startups. Investors are increasingly betting on companies with strong AI product management teams capable of scaling AI-powered solutions to solve real-world problems. A Gartner report predicts that by 2025, 40% of product managers will rely on AI to automate decision-making in their product development processes. And according to a CB Insights report, 56% of VCs now consider AI product innovation to be the most critical factor when evaluating investment opportunities in tech startups. AI startups are not just valued based on their algorithms; they are measured by how effectively their AI products can scale and impact industries. This is why investors are focusing heavily on teams that know how to bring AI-driven solutions to market. As I reflect on my journey from that April keynote to today's AI Product certification, one thing is clear: AI product management today is about much more than building the next neural network. It’s about transformation. Successful AI Product Managers are not just technical experts—they are visionaries who see the bigger picture and understand the ethical, commercial & societal impact of AI.
